You have just over 2 weeks left to get your free Piranha Plant code for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Don't wait too long or you could miss out.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s first DLC character, Piranha Plant, isn’t too far away from coming out. But if you want to get it for free, then you only have a couple of weeks left to redeem your game and get your code.

The Piranha Plant character is being given away to anyone who purchases the game in the first two months of it being available. You’ll then need to register the game to your Nintendo Switch Online Account on or before Jan. 31 to be sent a code for the character.

You need to first own a copy of the game in order to get your free code—so if you plan to grab Super Smash Bros. Ultimate after January, you’re sadly out of luck.

Piranha Plant will become an additional paid DLC character after the deadline for anyone looking to complete the game’s roster. So if you want it for free, you should go out and buy the game quickly.

Soon after Piranha Plant releases, work will begin on the second DLC character, Joker from Persona 5—who’s expected to come out in the summer. This character is part of the paid DLC Fighters Pass and won’t be given away for free.
