We all shed a tear or two when Teebu’s Blazing Longsword left World of Warcraft and not to mention the state players were in when other iconic weapons like Corrupted Ashbringer vanished. Although Blizzard Entertainment removed iconic weapons from the game, they are most likely returning soon.
When talking about the upcoming Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 in an interview on March 20, game director Ion Hazzikostas said Blizzard is looking for ways to put long-lost items back into players’ hands. This also includes their appearances which have never been available.
According to Hazzikostas, the WoW team wants to reach a point where there’s no backlog. Unfortunately, some weapons will stay nothing but a memory as Blizzard has no plans of ever bringing back items like Corrupted Ashbringer.
Although the game director didn’t specify how exactly Blizzard is planning to reintroduce old items back into the game, it’s highly likely that the main method of getting your hands on one of these rare items will be via the Trading Posts. Located in the capital cities of Orgrimmar and Stormwind, the Trading Posts are a newly-introduced feature that has a monthly rotation of goods, including mounts, toys, and transmogs.
So far, the Trading Post had the first store mount, Celestial Steed, for sale and other little neat transmogs. And who knows, maybe the April monthly rotation will bring back the cosmetics we need.
