The EU LCS regular season is about to kick off once again, starting on Jan. 19.
The top 10 teams will be competing over nine weeks for a shot at winning the EU LCS title and going to the Mid-Season Invitational as the region’s representative.
The EU LCS kicks off on Jan. 19 with current EU LCS title holders G2 Esports squaring off against Worlds quarterfinalists Misfits. Vitality will then take on H2K Gaming in the next match, followed by Unicorns of Love and Giants Gaming. Team Roccat will then step onto the Rift against Schalke, with Fnatic and Splyce ending the first day’s festivities.
With the EU LCS returning to a best-of-one format, all ten EU LCS teams will be competing daily. This gives fans the chance to see their favorite teams face off on stage on Friday and Saturday every week.
With various roster changes in the EU LCS this offseason, only Fnatic has currently kept the majority of its roster for the 2017 season. Some teams have strengthened in the offseason, however, with Splyce looking like early favorites to challenge Fnatic for the 2018 Spring Split title.
Currently, the schedule has only been released up until week four, with the rest of the schedule expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
