When do Rick and Morty release in MultiVersus?

Just another day in the multiverse.

MultiVersus hit the market as one of the biggest new crossover titles in the platform fighter space, bringing iconic characters from Warner Bros. IP together in one mashup of iconic media. And that’s only expanded as fighters like LeBron James and Gizmo from Gremlins have been added to the roster post-launch.

Right as the game was rolling out with its first season of content, Player First Games confirmed that both Rick and Morty from Rick and Morty would be playable characters in the game. Morty was first on Aug. 23, but Rick was nowhere to be seen until just recently.

With his grandson already in the game and causing the developers to have a labeling crisis for his class, Rick will be joining the game shortly.

PFG released its first in-engine cinematic to re-reveal Rick for fans, though no gameplay was shown at the time. This was followed by MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh saying that Rick will be coming to the roster “very soon.”

We already know Rick will be a Mage, using gadgets to deal damage from afar while mixing up his opponents—most likely using his portal gun in creative and dangerous ways.

Most of the sizable MultiVersus updates are put out early in the week, so expect more details about Rick soon and a release before the end of September or very early on in October. Black Adam and Stripe are still due to release in the near future too, with both potentially launching in October.
