With frustrations mounting over performance issues in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One, players have been taking their concerns to the message boards, and PUBG Corp. has heard them.
PUBG community manager Sammie “poopieQueen” Kang posted on Reddit over the weekend asking for patience, and explaining that the next update to help optimize the Xbox One version is not quite ready yet.

“We plan to deploy the patch in the next couple of weeks,” said Kang. “As you may know, we still need to go through cert after development for this patch is done. And there might be delays if we run into any unexpected issues but we are doing our best to meet this deadline. Our number one priority is optimization and improving stability of PUBG on Xbox Game Preview. So you will see some meaningful improvements along with some quality of life fixes in the next patch.”
The replies were filled with players frustrated with bad framerates, crashes, and hit detection. Sadly, it will be another few weeks before these issues have a fix. Other replies were from players who said they would be playing Fortnite instead for the time being.
“We understand that it can be frustrating to not get a patch or an update for over two weeks when we used to do weekly patches,” said Kang. “But we want to make sure that we release a stable patch and make sure it improves your PUBG experience.”
About a month ago, PUBG Corp. announced that the game had sold four million copies on Xbox One. But it remains to be seen how many of those players will stick around with the current performance problems when there are other battle royale games to play.
