The second $100,000 Realm Royale tournament has been canceled due to several competitors taking part in another event, host Daniel “KEEMSTAR” Keem announced on Twitter yesterday.

Debuting on Thursday, July 19, the 26-team tournament had $100,000 on the line as some of the most popular streamers in the world competed against each other. Former MMO player Sonii and Realm Royale streamer Overpowered took the $50,000 grand prize, beating out Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek who finished in second.

When the event series was announced earlier in the month, many were surprised because of Realm Royale’s recent release and KEEMSTAR’s tie to Fortnite: Battle Royale with his weekly Friday Fortnite events. His relationship with Fortnite seems a bit strained now, however, after Epic Games hosted a $500,000 tournament in direct competition to KEEMSTAR’s Friday Fortnite last week, taking many of the players set to compete in his tournament.

While KEEMSTAR has said he will be moving the Fortnite competition to Sundays starting this weekend, the $100,000 Realm Royale tournament will remain a fixture on Thursdays—besides this week.

In the same tweet where he announced the cancellation of this week’s event, KEEMSTAR said eliminations will now count for negative-two points. Unlike Friday Fortnite, where kills are all that matters, the RR event has a scoring system that both rewards eliminations and team placement. This scoring change will give an even greater reward for kills, and may even give more incentive for the players to be aggressive.

The KEEMSTAR $100,000 Realm Royale tournament will be back on Thursday, Aug. 2, and will most likely feature some major streamers and YouTube personalities.
