Echo Fox’s revamped roster crush FlyQuest in their debut match

Smoothie will hope to continue this success tomorrow when he faces his former team.

Echo Fox’s new NA LCS roster found success in their debut match today with a quick 25-minute victory over fellow first-place team, FlyQuest.

Just one day before the NA LCS roster lock deadline, Echo Fox made sweeping changes to its roster, replacing three parts of the starting lineup. Although their changes looked to be an upgrade, especially with the addition of former Cloud9 support Andy “Smoothie” Ta, Echo Fox’s new lineup needed to be tested. And there was no better test than FlyQuest, a team tied with Echo Fox in the standings.

To take on their debut challenge, Echo Fox drafted a composition with three winning lanes and an aggressive Camille pick in the jungle. Although they weren’t able to find almost any kills during the laning phase, Echo Fox built an initial lead simply because their players won their respective matchups.

Echo Fox dominated all of their lanes and were rewarded with FlyQuest’s three outer turrets and the Mountain Drake with little challenge from their opponents.

As their gold deficit continued to grow, FlyQuest realized that if they kept playing reactively, they would slowly lose the game. With this in mind, FlyQuest made their attempt at a comeback with a catch onto Echo Fox jungler, Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett. Unfortunately for FlyQuest, though, Echo Fox were prepared for such a play, and quickly turned around their opponent’s engage, earning four kills in the process.

With their champions now snowballed, Echo Fox easily closed out the game. FlyQuest, now extremely far behind after their botched engage, could do nothing but cede objective after objective until their Nexus was eventually destroyed.

With his first win on Echo Fox now earned, Smoothie will prepare for his match against his former team, Cloud9, on July 29.
