Rise Nation eliminate Red Reserve from the CWL Pro League Stage 2 Playoffs

Both of Red's losses came against Gunless and crew.

On Friday, Rise Nation sent Red Reserve down to the losers bracket with a 3-1 win in the first round of the CWL Pro League Stage Two Playoffs. And today, Peirce “Gunless” Hillman and crew beat the Europeans 3-1 once again to eliminate them from the tournament.

When these teams squared off two days ago, the first map in the series was Valkyrie Hardpoint—and Rise won 250-190. But in this matchup, Red Reserve took a hard-fought 250-237 victory in map one.

The Europeans then jumped out to an early lead on Valkyrie Search and Destroy. But Rise responded by taking six rounds in a row to win map two 6-3—Tommy “TJHaLY” Haly had twice as many kills as any other player in the lobby with his 12/5 performance.

With the series tied at one map apiece, both teams were held scoreless in the first half of Ardennes Forest Capture the Flag. But Rise used a strong start to the second half to take map three 3-0—TJHaLY went off again with a 13-killstreak, while Daniel “Loony” Loza produced a 28/10 scoreline.

Now with a 2-1 advantage, Rise closed things out with a dominant slaying performance on London Docks Hardpoint. The CWL Seattle and Anaheim champions took map four 250-184 to secure the 3-1 series victory. Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat led the lobby with 43 kills, while Gunless and TJHaLY added 39 and 38, respectively.

Red Reserve will now head home with a third-place finish and $80,000 as a team. Rise, on the other hand, will look to get their revenge against Team Kaliber in the grand finals later today.
