Ahead of the upcoming 2019 LEC Summer Split, SK Gaming’s Jorge “Werlyb” Casanovas Moreno-Torres has been demoted to the team’s academy roster, while Toni “Sacre” Sabalić has been chosen to replace him on the starting lineup. Werlyb went to his Twitch stream to explain what happened.
The Spanish top laner said he wasn’t unhappy with the decision to be demoted, but he was disheartened with how he was treated. His teammates were reluctant to spend time with him, ignoring him, and excluding him from social events. This included going to dinner without inviting him.
It wasn’t until the second game in a best-of-five scrim that the news was broken to him. But despite how the situation was handled, he said SK wasn’t to blame. The organization was extremely helpful and he’s happy with what it did for him, he added.
He also addressed Sacre, saying he respected him as a player and a person, and he was the only teammate to defend his spot on the starting lineup.
Werlyb is motivated to return to the LEC, however, he doesn’t intend to rejoin SK’s main roster.
