Palworld’s long-awaited PlayStation debut looks to be right around the corner

It's coming.

PlayStation players may finally get the chance to play Palworld soon, as the game’s appearance at the Tokyo Game Show suggests news is imminent.

As spotted by Gematsu and reported by GamesRadar, Palworld is listed among the games that will be exhibited at the show. While that isn’t a surprise as it’s made by Japanese developer Pocket Pair, the exhibitor listing shared by Gematsu lists Palworld as being playable on PlayStation 5.

Though no official announcement has been made by the developer, Palworld’s playable on PS5 status at the Tokyo Game Show suggests that news is likely coming around the same time. Tokyo Game Show kicks off on Sept. 24 and finishes on Sept. 29.

Palworld launched to rave reviews in January, with an all-time peak of over two million concurrent players on Steam and similar success on Xbox Series X|S, where it launched as part of the Game Pass service—and now it’s PlayStations turn.

A big announcement like this is welcome, as it’s been a relatively quiet period for Palworld following the major Sakurajima update in June that introduced new Pals, weapons, enemies, and more. That update wasn’t enough to push Palworld back to the levels it enjoyed after launch, but a PS5 launch will open the door to more players.

Palworld’s appearance at the Tokyo Game Show could also provide news on what’s next for players across all platforms as development continues toward a full 1.0 release. No date for that has been set, and the game remains in early access.
