YYour goal in The Palace of Time quest is to enter Jafar’s palace and make your way to the throne room so you can stop him from taking over Eternity Isle in A Rift in Time. You have to solve quite a few puzzles and navigate through a massive area to get there, which makes it a pretty tricky task, so here’s a complete quest breakdown to guide you through it.

  • Enter the palace.
  • Find a way to get across the chasm.
  • Find a way to get through the door.
  • Find a way to deactivate the door.
  • Confront Jafar in the throne room.
  • Find the key that unlocks the gate.
  • Get inside the throne room.

Enter the palace in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The first step is to enter the palace through the secret entrance you previously uncovered with Merlin. This is a trapdoor right on the other side of the rift you eliminated during the Mysterious Mickey quest.

Find a way to get across the chasm in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Immediately after entering the palace, you encounter a massive chasm you must find a way to get across. Most of the puzzles inside the palace involve altering time, so walk up to the hourglass on your left and interact with it to flip it so the red sand inside is on top.

A brief white flash will play as time changes, creating a bridge in front of you so you can cross the chasm.

Repairing the bridge blocks the doorway on the other side, so the next step is to find a way to get through the door. Now that you’ve crossed the bridge, turn right and approach the hourglass sitting there. Interact with it to change time again as you move the blue sand to the top so you can pass through the door.

After unlocking the door, continue up the stairs and pass through the archway at the top to find a puzzle room. There’s another locked door in here, which means you now need to navigate through a puzzle to gain access.

Find a way to deactivate the door in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Your next obstacle is another locked door you need to deactivate. This is the first big puzzle of the quest and requires altering time back and forth, so here are the exact steps you need to follow.

  • Interact with the hourglass on your right to alter time and move the red sand on top.
  • Walk up to the circular puzzle piece on the ground and interact with it twice to connect the Power Coil holder to the mirror. You can check if it’s properly connected by seeing if the bright blue power line flows into the other half of the puzzle.
  • Interact with the mirror twice to adjust where the light beam is when you alter time again.
  • Interact with the hourglass to alter time again and move the blue sand back on top.

Confront Jafar in the throne room in Disney Dreamlight Valley

For the next part, you have to pause working on The Palace of Time to work on the Jafar’s Laboratory quest that appears as you try to confront Jafar in the throne room. This new quest unlocks as soon as you try to approach him since he has the area blocked off by a locked gate.

To start the secondary quest you need to gain access to the throne room, turn left, and head up the stairs to enter Jafar’s secret work area. In the Jafar’s Laboratory quest, your main goal is to feed his bird so you can claim the key you need to pass through the locked gate.

After finishing the Jafar’s Laboratory quest, you can jump back into The Palace of Time to unlock the gate using the key you got and finally enter the throne room. Unfortunately, Jafar spots you before you can reach him and creates a portal to a Black and White island, which means there’s one final obstacle you have to overcome before you can reach him.

The Palace of Time quest concludes when the Black and White Island portal appears, so you’re officially done with this quest.
