A player who’s self-proclaimed to be “the most notorious stream sniper” in Fortnite: Battle Royale has been banned from the game, players spotted during Ben “DrLupo” Lupo’s stream today.
DrLupo shared a clip of him playing a match with Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Ninja was the only player alive in the squad when the kill feed showed that a player named YouTube TC Troy “was struck by the banhammer.” TC Troy has confirmed the ban in his Twitter profile and wrote that “it was a fun run.”
Troy was dedicated to jumping into the matches of famous streamers like DrLupo, Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar, and Ninja to try and eliminate them. When Troy plays while watching their streams, he has an advantage over them and is able to catch them off-guard and eliminate them while making plays that would otherwise be impossible to pull off intentionally.
A few fans on DrLupo’s Twitch chat said Troy just makes a new account every time he gets banned, so these streamers probably won’t catch a break from him yet.

Stream sniping isn’t hacking or cheating like using a third-party software, but it’s still a way to get an unfair advantage over your opponents. This might be enough reason for Epic to go after all of Troy’s accounts and ban him whenever he decides to chase streamers again.
Stream snipers have been a nightmare for Fortnite streamers for a while now, and Ninja was involved in a case a few months ago for accusing a player of stream sniping and calling for their ban when the player was allegedly not stream sniping him.
It’s unclear when or if Troy will create a new account to go after Fortnite streamers again.
