All UFL game modes, explained

Modes for all tastes.

UFL will be released on Sept. 12, but we already know what modes you can enjoy. The game has been in development since 2021 and a lot of promises have been made since then, including several game modes, but the open beta didn’t include all of them.

STRIKERZ INC. hasn’t given much detail about the game modes except for what Eugene Nashilov, the studio’s CEO, said in the UFL First Look Gameplay Reveal video released in 2022, and what we’ve seen in the two open betas. Here’s every game mode STRIKERZ INC. promised for UFL:

  • UFL’s global online football league (Flagship Mode)
  • Non-league online matches
  • 2v2
  • 3v3
  • Events
    • Challenges
  • Offline mode
  • Missions
  • Custom tournaments

Out of the mentioned modes, we mostly know about the online mode, which is the priority for the UFL devs and the one most explored in the open betas. We only know how the Flagship mode, the offline mode, and the event modes work so far. The other modes Eugene Nashilov mentioned in the video weren’t included in the beta. Here are the modes present in the UFL open betas:

  • UFL’s global online football league (Flagship Mode)
  • Offline mode
  • Events
    • Challenges

UFL’s global online football league (Flagship Mode)

There will be around 5,000 real-life players to choose from to create your team and compete in ranked games. As you win ranked matches with your club, your team gets stronger and you move up the Divisions to compete for the best rewards and cards.

Offline mode

Although STRIKERZ INC. already said their focus is on the online mode, players will be able to enjoy playing offline matches to compete in tournaments using your club or just casually play against friends in a local setup with a split-screen.

Events

There will be challenges you can complete and the Team Pass under the events tab. Daily and Weekly challenges will grant you credits and Star Points for completing tasks such as winning three matches in a row, scoring a goal in a Ranked match, and scoring two goals in the first half in a match. You then use Star Points to unlock the Team Pass page to get special rewards such as customization items, boosts, and packs.

It’s possible missions and custom tournaments might be released as live events once the game is launched, with limited-time tasks and rewards, but we’ll only know after Sept. 12.
