Pokémon Go Shield Path Trade Collection Challenge: All Pokémon and rewards

What Pokémon do you need to trade with other players?

Not every Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go works the same. There are some you need to think outside the box or work with other players to complete. For the Shield Path Trade Challenge, you’ll be speaking with players to receive specific Pokémon for this challenge.

It all comes down to speaking with other players and making sure you can both receive a good exchange for these deals. Because you grabbed the Shield Path, you may want to track down a player who chose the Sword path during the Legendary Heroes event, where you can both help out each other to complete specific challenges. You also need to make sure you have enough Stardust for the trade. Here’s what you need to know about how to complete the Pokémon Go Shield Path Trade Collection Challenge.

The following are the only four Pokémon you need to track down for these trades

  • Gothita
  • Scraggy
  • Seedot
  • Swirlix

These Pokémon won’t appear when you choose the Shield Path for the Legendary Heroes Timed Research in Pokémon Go. Instead, these show up for players who pick the Sword Path, and this means you need to work with them to figure out a reliable trade to get them. Even if you’ve already caught these Pokémon before, you must receive them in a trade from Sept. 26 to Oct. 1 before the Legendary Heroes event ends. You’ll receive this Collection Challenge alongside the Catch Collection.

The nice thing is the player who gives these Pokémon in a trade can receive them in any way. If these Pokémon were caught in a previous event or at a much earlier point before the Legendary Heroes event, it should not matter. For those who chose the Sword Path, though, these four Pokémon have a high chance of appearing when using incense. Although Pokémon Go players on the Sword Path need to catch them for their own collection, after they catch them, they can freely trade them away.

These are all the Pokémon you need to receive in a trade to complete the Shield Path Trade Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go.

GothitaReceive in a trade from another player. Gothita has a high chance of appearing for Sword Path Pokémon Go players when they use incense.
ScraggyReceive in a trade from another player. Scraggy has a high chance of appearing for Sword Path Pokémon Go players when they use incense.
SeedotReceive in a trade from another player. Seedot has a high chance of appearing for Sword Path Pokémon Go players when they use incense.
SwirlixReceive in a trade from another player. Swirlix has a high chance of appearing for Sword Path Pokémon Go players when they use incense.

All Shield Path Trade Collection Challenge rewards: 5,000 XP and a Deino encounter.

The trade does not have to come from a Pokémon Go player on the Sword Path, but it certainly helps as they have a higher chance to encounter these Pokémon during the Legendary Heroes event. After you receive these Pokémon in a trade, you can power them up to add them to your collection or swap them for Candy. Completing this collection does reward you with Deino encounter, which only appears for Pokémon Go players who are on the Sword Path and use incense to track it down.
