ELEAGUE and FACEIT Partner to Present Overwatch® Open

Today, ELEAGUE and FACEIT announced the Overwatch Open.

Today, ELEAGUE – a Turner and WME | IMG partner brand – and FACEIT have come together to announce the biggest Overwatch tournament to date, the Overwatch® Open. The tournament’s European (EU) and North American (NA) online phase will begin on Saturday, July 23 on the FACEIT platform. Teams from the online round will move on to the playoff round, which will take place Friday through Sunday, August 26-28. The playoff round will go into the EU and NA Regional Finals, which will be presented live through Twitch at the ELEAGUE Arena at Turner Studios in Atlanta. The NA Finals will take place Sunday and Monday, Sept. 25-26. The EU Finals will follow on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 28-29. The winning Regional Finals teams will move on to the Grand Final. The Grand Final will take place on Friday, Sept. 30 and will be presented live on TBS and Twitch. The prize pool for the Open is as follows:

  • 1st – $100,000 (Grand Final Winner)
  • 2nd – $32,000 (Grand Final Runner-Up)
  • 3rd-4th – $24,000 (Regional Finals Runners-Up)
  • 5th-8th – $6,000

This follows ELEAGUE’s presentation of Counter Strike: Global Offensive® through TBS and Twitch for a major prize pool. Given this, ELEAGUE should present a tournament that viewers and players will enjoy. Teams and players can find more information at playoverwatch.com
