With intrateam issues seeing Lincoln “fnx” Lau out of the Brazilian powerhouse SK Gaming, the team is rumored to be picking up former FaZe Clan AWPer Ricardo “fox” Pacheco for the ECS Season 2 Finals, according to HLTV.
SK has been slowing down this fall, placing second at IEM Oakland and the ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals, and third/fourth in ELEAGUE Season 2, EPICENTER: Moscow, and ESL One New York.
Fox will not be rusty coming in, despite being ousted by FaZe in August, as he has competed with several other Portugese players under k1ck oldschool in the time since. This side has seen several LAN events, including the xfunction Champions Series in Libson where the squad placed second, as well as ESWC 2016.
For the ECS Season 2 Finals taking place from Dec. 9 to 12, SK will be fighting in a group consisting of Dignitas, Immortals and EnVyUs, with the latter two teams not being sides SK has faced in recent events. Dignitas lost to SK 16-7 during the group stage of the ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals.
At the time of writing, there is no confirmation that fox will permanently join SK, nor is there any indication of another player SK is rumored to bring on for the first major of 2017 in Atlanta.
As for fnx, he was unaware that he may be dropped by SK for this event until HLTV reported their findings.
Sad to receive this news by https://t.co/kbFzB9Kt4D .. It was a great year with this team! Success to everyone on the walk <3
