The European’s in FaZe Clan dominated G2 Esports in both games of the series, sending them to yet another semifinal of an international LAN tournament.

In the first map of the series, Inferno, FaZe Clan were off to the best imaginable start, as the team’s Finnish AWPer Aleksi “allu” Jalli took down every single player of G2 Esports on the pistol round. The French side didn’t allow FaZe to string the first two rounds of the map together, however, and came back to take the second round.

But despite resetting FaZe’s economy, the two sides began trading rounds. Finally, FaZe were able to string together a considerable amount of victories, securing their lead. The sides went into the second half with the scoreline at 9-6 for FaZe.

Once on the CT side FaZe absolutely dominated G2, giving away only one round in total as they denied almost all of G2’s attempts at breaching either bombsite, ending the first game of the series in a comfortable fashion.

G2 attempted to tie the series on the second map Nuke, winning four rounds in a row following yet another lost pistol round to FaZe. The European side took G2’s performances in stride, delivering a brutal forcebuy victory against G2 on the eighth round—as Finn “karrigan” Andersen delivered a completely absurd performance with multiple Desert Eagle kills.

The map continued with FaZe pulling away to a 10-5 halftime score. While G2’s Dan “apEX” Madesclaire put up a valiant effort to bring the series back to the French side’s favor, they were ultimate unable to stop FaZe from taking the map, and the series.

The StarSeries Season 3 playoffs continue with North going up against HellRaisers, with the final four decided today.
