Ben “Desire” Wright did not expect to finish out in the top eight teams, but to be fair, many did not expect Epsilon to be at CWL London to begin with. As GAMURS broke the story, Epsilon eSports had an e-mail error that jeopardized the team’s chances at attending the event. Fortunately, they got a break in Supremacy having to drop out of the tournament, and the team were a last minute substitute. After being dealt into Group B along with The Imperial, Elevate and another last-minute replacement in Team IN2ITION, they took down both Imperial and IN2ITION to qualify for the bracket stage. There, they faced back-to-back losses, losing to two top sides in Infused and Splyce in tough matchups. Epsilon’s finish was not ideal, but Desire at least sees some solace in attending the tournament. “The loss is horrible, but we got to appreciate that we were here and that we got pro points,” said Desire. “We don’t have that much pressure there for Atlanta and ESWC, we still got a bit of pro points, and that’s all that matters.” With that said, Desire gave a lot of credit to the Splyce side that took his team down, and believes that even though they are in the loser’s bracket, they could make a run and win it all. “I wouldn’t be surprised if they win the event, but you have to play well at this event. To be the best, you got to beat the best, so it doesn’t matter who you play, you still have to beat them.”
