The APAC Premier, which stands for Asian Pacific Premier, is a Chinese tournament organization. They recently announced an international tournament, which will consist of one European and North American team, two Japanese and Korean teams, and six Chinese teams. The six Chinese teams will be picked through a regional qualifier tournament, which will consist of four teams from an online qualifier that was held on Sept. 8-11, plus 12 more teams will get invited. This will be a double elimination style tournament, where the top six teams will advance to the Grand Final. The six teams from China will be decided after the Chinese qualifier, which takes places on Oct. 2.

However, the six International teams who received invites have been announced. They are as follows:

Europe: Rogue

North America: <a href="http://overwatch.gamepedia.com/NRGeSports” target=”blank”>NRG

South Korea: <a href="http://wiki.teamliquid.net/overwatch/AfreecaFreecs/AF.Blue” target=”blank”>A.F Blue, Lunatic.Hai

Japan: <a href="http://www.unsoldstuffgaming.com/single-post/2016/07/08/OverWatch%E9%83%A8%E9%96%80%E3%83%81%E3%83%BC%E3%83%A0%E6%B1%BA%E5%AE%9A%E3%81%AE%E3%81%8A%E7%9F%A5%E3%82%89%E3%81%9B" target="blank”>Unsold Stuff Gaming, <a href="http://overwatch.gamepedia.com/DeToNator" target="blank”>DeToNator

All of these teams have had very strong showings in their respective areas. Teams like DeToNator, who are number one in their country, will definitely be trying to prove that they are also the best in the world. This will be a tournament to watch for sure. It looks to be a great insight in to how the Western competitive scene compares to the Eastern powerhouses we all know exist as well.

As of right now, we do not have too much more information on this invitational. The prize pool currently sits at around $247,390, with no information on how it will be split between placings. The tournament will follow a group stage format, consisting of three groups with the top team of every group automatically advancing to the final stage. After the group stages, it will turn in to a single elimination playoff style bracket.

Be on the lookout for more information as it is released. Make sure to do some research on these teams in the links provided with the team names. This is certainly one for the books and should open up the world to competitive Overwatch.
