Marvel Snap’s clan-like feature Alliances is now live in-game after the game’s latest large-scale update today.
The feature has been in the works for quite some time and adds a new wrinkle to how the game is played, as well as an additional goal to work toward for players to keep them invested in the card-battling game.
Read on below for the patch notes to find out more about Alliances in Marvel Snap, along with everything else new in the game.
Marvel Snap patch notes today: July 30 update
The largest addition in today’s patch is Alliances, which allows players to join up under one banner and work together to take on bounties. Alliances can have their own icon, background, clan tag, name, requirements, description, search labels, privacy, and more.
Within Alliances, players can select bounties to complete to earn rewards like boosters. Completing bounties will earn progress toward individual and group rewards, and there will be global leaderboards for Alliances. And this is just the start.
“We have BIG dreams for Alliances and are committed to expanding this feature over time,” Second Dinner said. “The next step on our roadmap is Alliance Competitions. These competitions will pit Alliances against each other in thrilling battles for supremacy and even more rewards.”
One of the biggest main card changes was to Shadow King. Basically, the card will now bypass Luke Cage‘s ability, which is a buff for the King and an indirect nerf for the Cage. Uatu, the Watcher will now also show all locations, Moon Knight will now discard only even-cost cards, and Blink will pull cards from decks based on their current cost instead of base cost.
Also in today’s update is a sneak peek at what’s likely the October season for the game, which looks to be based around symbiote characters like Anti-Venom, Agent Venom, Scream, Toxin, and more, according to MarvelSnapBugle on Twitter/X.
