TSM And The Errors in Their Play vs. C9
After the recent games against Cloud 9 and Dignitas, TSM has been getting a lot of flack from people because they are not performing to be the team that everyone hyped them up to be. The team struggles at key points in their recent games that cause the other team to bounce back and win or just entirely take the lead.
Let’s talk about that Cloud 9 match. In the pick and ban, TSM built their composition around Doublelift’s Kog'maw with Bjergsen on Leblanc for assassination potential on enemy carries. , a very strong pick in the patch that was played. The rest of the lineup were basically peel champions such as Gragas in the jungle, Braum support, and poppy in the toplane.
What went wrong? The game was going relatively well for TSM but one thing that they did not manage on the map very well was the enemy Gangplank. He was never pressured by Svenskeren and it allowed the him to free farm until he built the proper items to devastate TSM’s backline with one barrel.
Soraka: Along with the Gangplank, the Soraka pick from Hai negated Bjergsen from completely one shotting the enemy carries. It also prevented Doublelift from killing targets right away. This allowed cloud 9 to chew through the frontline of TSM before Doublelift could finish them.
Strategical errors: I watched Nick Decesare's live review on discord and agree with him entirely. TSM could have easily taken this game if they pressured the right objectives at the right time. They were completely dominating the map at one point but instead of trying to force baron and wait for picks, they tried to force pressure mid and it backfired in lost teamfights. I believe that this all goes back to the problems of old for TSM which all goes back to shotcalling.
To wrap it all up, TSM has high caliber players in North America to be the super team that people hoped they would be but they will need to improve their in game calls and overall team play.
