Team EnVyUs to Enter League of Legends

Team EnVyUs has joined the League of Legends scene by buying out Renegades' North American League Championship spot.

Today it was announcedthat TeamEnVyUs has agreed toterms with Renegadesto take Renegades’ spot inthe North American League Championship Series, according to sourcesclose to both organizations.

This comes after Renegades wasforced to sell their LCS spot for the Summer Split after Riot Gamesbanned the organization Chris “Doombang” Badawi becausethe team allegedly voluntarily violating Doombang’scompetitive ban. Renegades was also accused of“misrepresenting a relationship with Team DragonKnights andcompromising player welfare and safety,” according toRiot.

The deal is allegedly worth morethan $1 million and is pending approval by Riot.

This signals EnVyUs’first foray into Leagueof Legends. Sincereceiving a monetary investment from SierraMaya360, a venturecapital firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. You can read moreabout this investment here.

EnVyUs currently owns teamsin Call of Duty, CounterStrike: Global Offensive, Gears of War, Halo, Overwatch,Smite and it alsopicked up Starcraft2 player Choi “Polt”Seong Hun.
