The final curtain may have fallen on Immortals, who is preparing to exit from the NA LCS with the reported release of the last player on its roster.
FlyQuest has added Immortals’ substitute support Willian “Stunt” Chen to its League team, according to an ESPN report. Stunt has been a part of Immortals since May 16, when he joined from Phoenix1 as the backup to Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung.
Stunt is set to replace longtime support player Daerek “LemonNation” Hart, who has been with the team since it was Cloud9 Challenger. It’s unknown at this time if LemonNation will remain with the team either as a substitute player or as a part of the organization’s staff.
Stunt would be the last player to depart from Immortals. Most of the team was reportedly picked up by Team Liquid for the 2018 season, while support player Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung and top laner Lee “Flame” Ho-jong are free agents. Coach Kim “SSONG” Sang-soo is also reportedly set to join TSM as the team’s new head coach.
Immortals reached its first NA LCS finals in the 2017 Summer Split, losing to TSM in the final. The team then went to the League of Legends World Championship this year as North America’s second seed. They finished fourth in their group behind Longzhu Gaming, Fnatic, and GIGABYTE Marines, failing to make it to the knockout stage.
Although Immortals’ time in the LCS will come to an end, the organization’s legacy will live on with these players as they find new teams for the upcoming season.
