Team ROCCAT has finalized its roster for the upcoming EU LCS Spring Split by adding support player Tore “Norskeren” Hoel Eilertsen.
The move is pending Riot’s approval, according to ROCCAT’s announcement.
Norskeren is the second former Schalke 04 player to join the team after ROCCAT introduced jungler Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi on Dec. 12.
He will join the team alongside his former teammate Memento, former Ninjas in Pyjamas top laner Kim “Profit” Jun-hyung and ADC Martin “HeaQ” Kordmaa, and former Paris Saint-Germain mid laner Jin “Blanc” Seong-min.
Norskeren was a part of the Schalke 04 roster that gained promotion into the EU LCS last year from the Challenger Series. When his contract expired, he was replaced by current Schalke support Oskar “VandeR” Bogdan.
ROCCAT’s main ambition will be to fight for those important playoff spots this season. After finishing fourth in groups in the Spring and Summer Split, ROCCAT failed to contest other teams for those international places.
This team, however, might not be capable of challenging the top squads at all. ROCCAT’s roster is full of players who have either failed to lead their team out of the Challenger Series, or have failed to make a big impact in the EU LCS all together.
With relegation terminated in the Spring Split, however, ROCCAT have plenty of time to see if they have any shot of doing the unthinkable—challenging for the EU LCS title.
