New League of Legends lore update reveals the path to Bandle City

Riot released short stories for Yuumi, Tristana and Lulu.

Bandle City has long been shrouded in mystery, but fans have finally gotten a glimpse into the magic surrounding the mystical city with today’s lore update. Riot Games released two new short stories on the game’s Universe and a series of new images to shed some light on two of the game’s Yordles, Lulu and Tristana, and their magical home.

The first story “The Biggest Catch,” follows League’s newest champion, Yuumi, as she sets off to find her master, Norra. The Magical Cat wakes up from a nap on the docks of Bilgewater and hears the cries of an unnamed Yordle, who is tied up and being used as bait by a group of fishermen. Yuumi leaps to the rescue, shielding the Yordle as the pair fall into the jaws of a shark, and the two manage to escape to the safety of Bandle City using the Book of Portals.

Titled “The Whispering Doodad,” the second of today’s stories shares the perspective a guardian spirit of a mystical glade. The spirit catches sight of Draven and Tamara, a Noxian warmason, alongside a band of Noxian soldiers. As the Noxian group makes its way through the forest, Lulu and Tristana come tumbling out of a nearby portal.

The two groups come into contact when Lulu illuminates the forest with a thud of her staff in an attempt to find a mystical key, what Lulu calls “the doodad,” to unlock the portal to Bandle City. Draven seizes the opportunity to attack, and the Yordles find themselves under a rain of arrows and axes. The Glorious Executioner picks up Tristana by the scruff of her neck, but Lulu saves her cannon-wielding friend by polymorphing a rather rough-looking rabbit into a monster of a beast.

Riot released a few images of Bandle City to accompany today’s short stories. Additionally, Lulu and Tristana have received updates to their bios on the League of Legends Universe to reflect the new lore.
