LoL’s HEARTSTEEL skin line brings boy band badness to the Rift

Another band has sprung up in the League of Legends universe, this time bringing together a handful of failed yet passionate solo artists who remain steadfast in showing the world their combined talents. And soon, players of the MOBA will be able to bring those sounds directly onto Summoner’s Rift.

Following the release of HEARTSTEEL’s debut song ”PARANOIA” today, Riot Games has provided a look at what the members of the boy band—Ezreal, Yone, Kayn, K’Sante, Sett, and Aphelios—will look like in-game through their official splash arts. The edgy, music-oriented versions of these popular League champions will be making their way into the game on Nov. 8 with Patch 13.22, just a few weeks before the finals of the 2023 World Championship.

Each of these champions appears nearly identical in both look and personality to what was showcased within the “PARANOIA” music video, as well as the various teasers released on social media leading up to the video’s premiere. Though all of the members of HEARTSTEEL appear in each splash art, the individual members are put on display to highlight their specific quirks in their own splash arts—including the appearance of Alune in Aphelios’ artwork, though she does not visibly appear in-game.

The HEARTSTEEL skins are also likely to be featured in the in-game Worlds event store, where a variety of placeholders have been present since the beginning of the event and release of this year’s Coven skins. It is expected that each of the members of HEARTSTEEL will receive a chroma and border associated with their skin to be purchasable with Worlds tokens. While the Prestige skin for this batch has yet to be confirmed, various information leaks have suggested it will go to HEARTSTEEL Yone, which will also likely be exclusive to the Worlds event shop alongside Prestige Coven Akali.

League players will be able to fully indulge in the intricate sounds and sights that HEARTSTEEL brings when skins for the boy band make their way to the live servers with Patch 13.22 on Nov. 8. These skins will also soon be available for testing on League’s PBE for those who want to test them and provide feedback to the developers prior to their official release.

While it has not yet been confirmed, fans may expect HEARTSTEEL to be present during the opening ceremony of the Worlds finals on Nov. 19, paralleling what Riot has done with its previous virtual bands, Pentakill, K/DA, and True Damage.
