Most of the stories on Riot’s League Nexus website have been based on lore that’s already happened to give players a look into a champion’s backstory or countries like Demacia and Noxus. Now, however, stories are set to finally advance in an effort to let the world of Runeterra grow.

With the introduction of Sylas, Demacia’s story will evolve to tackle the new mage threat, and whether the country can continue to go the way that it has. Riot talked about how it feels that the League universe is frozen in time. The developers want to start progressing the world forward to give fans something to engage with out of the game.

Alongside the growing world, Riot is also looking to expand the Nexus by adding stories about the residents and area of Bandle City, the home of the Yordles. Alternative universe adventures based on some of the game’s popular skin lines, such as Project and Star Guardian, will also be explored and fleshed out.
