International Elo Ratings
Not a great deal of change this week. The return of Pawn to Edward Gaming signals that China might be returning to its natural state of everyone beats everyone and then loses to EDG. The other serious mover in the LPL was Vici; the consistently inconsistent VG managed their first week without a 1-1 by losing four straight games to Qiao Gu and OMG.
In Korea the race between the top-6 teams to avoid missing play-offs, to which only 5 teams may qualify, continues to be tense and unpredictable. KT look like the underdogs to make it; they lost to Najin this week and haven’t won a single game against a top-6 team since week 2. The KOO Tigers and SKT continue to look solidly above the fray.
In EU Gambit look to contest the title of “Best of the Worst” with Giants, Elements and Roccat. The Unicorns of Love, on the other hand, continue to be fundamentally unpredictable. Last split they were involved in by far the most upsets, both as winners and losers, and could well repeat this title. Fnatic look to be on another level entirely, going 2(+1)-0 this week and are now one of just two undefeated teams (the other being The Chiefs).
NA is all about the long-awaited collapse of CLG and the pack of good-but-not-great teams trying to take TSM’s title. Meanwhile TSM’s loss to Gravity finally snapped a six game winning streak that featured several shaky performances and unconvincing victories.
