Fnatic and Alliance to battle for first place in the LCS

With only two weeks left to go, the League of Legends Championship Series in Europe has never been closer

With only two weeks left to go, the League of Legends Championship Series in Europe has never been closer. Alliance, who jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back, have finally been caught up to by Fnatic. The three-time champs are now just a game behind Alliance, and with the momentum of an eight-game winning streak, this might be the toughest challenger Alliance has ever faced. The winner of this match not only edges that much closer to the No. 1 playoff seed, but secures some precious momentum. Who will win?

Despite their poorer record, Fnatic are heading into this match with better overall team stats. They have a higher KDA, more gold per minute, and get the first blood and first tower objectives more often. That said, Alliance do tend to do better in the late game, with better Baron control and more first inhibitors. Combined with their one-game lead, and their 2-1 record against Fnatic this split, Alliance could very well take this game if Fnatic can’t end it quickly.

That being said, Fnatic’s best chance at another title is their star marksman, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson. He has more than 10 KDA on average this split, an outstanding number, and is one of the highest-scoring players ever to grace the LCS. Alliance’s counterpart, Erik “Tabzz” van Helvert, doesn’t even come close. In fact, most Fnatic members have an advantage over Alliance, with Alliance’s only real standout being team captain Henrik “Froggen” Hansen. If Fnatic focus fire on Hansen, they should have no problem taking the series.
