Assassin’s Creed fans can expect more information about the series’ future in a special event in September.
Ubisoft said in today’s 15th anniversary livestream the “future of Assassin’s Creed” will be revealed during a special event in September. It’s unclear what fans can expect during the next event, but it should provide insight into which direction the series is heading.
The next title in the Assassin’s Creed series is reportedly a stealth-focused game coming in 2023, according to a Bloomberg report. The game will feature the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla character Basim and was originally planned as an expansion for the most recent title. This game will be “smaller in scope than recent games in the series,” likely departing from the massive open world and RPG elements of recent Assassin’s Creed games.
In the meantime, fans can enjoy new content and updates across multiple Assassin’s Creed games. A Ubisoft press release confirmed players will have access to new free content in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, including the return of festivals, the Mastery Challenge Pack Two, the Armory feature, and new caves to explore. Valhalla players can also expect The Forgotten Saga game mode this summer, and the last episode of the story of Eivor will be free for all players at the end of the year.
Ubisoft has not officially revealed the next game in the series, but fans will learn more at the next event in September.
