Swedish bot laner Oskar “G0DFRED” Lundström has joined Spanish team GIANTS! Gaming as the starting support, sources close to the organization tell the Daily Dot.

Lundström will replace Fernando “Rydle” Soria, who joined the team ahead of the 2015 Expansion Tournament last November. This news comes after a disappointing ninth-place finish in the European LCS for GIANTS! after a close tiebreaker for last against MeetYourMakers.

The team has also recently added a new analyst Benjamin “LOLWorlds” Encel to its support staff. Encel is best known for his online analysis and video reviews on Korean League of Legends gameplay.

Happy to announce I am officially the analyst for Giants Gaming. Shoutouts to my bud Marcell for the dank nubs.

GIANTS! will be Lundström’s debut on the big stage. He’s previously only played with Ranked 5’s teams on the Europe West ladder, as well as some local Swedish amateur teams. This will be his first opportunity on a top-tier LCS or Challenger Series team. Despite his lack of competitive experience, he’s often praised by other professional supports in solo queue, particularly for his play on popular support champion Thresh.

GIANTS! Gaming have looked to changed up its bot lane throughout the offseason. The team had reportedly been trying out former MeetYourMakers support Lewis “Noxiak” Felix as well as Lundström, but ultimately went with the latter, who will fill out the bot lane alongside marksman Adrián “Adryh” Pérez.

GIANTS! have yet to respond to a request for comment.
