Renegades and Team Dragon Knights have made a trade deal in the hopes of bolstering their rosters after unexpected results for both teams.
Team Dragon Knights top laner Shin “Seraph” Woo-yeong and Noh “Ninja” Geon-woo have been traded to Renegades and will compete in the LCS on March 12 match against Cloud9 while Renegades players top laner Cuong “Flaresz” Ta and mid laner Alexey “Alex Ich” Ichetovkin will now play for Dragon Knights. Former Enemy support Lawrence “Trance” Amador will also join the Dragon Knights.
“After countless hours of discussions, and considering what would give TDK the best chance to succeed in the playoffs, we have decided to make a trade with Renegades,” Dragon Knights CEO Alan Hubbard told the Daily Dot. “We are looking forward to our playoff bout with Ember next week.”
Only two members remain from the original Dragon Knights lineup: jungler Kevin “Kez” Jeon and AD carry Oh “Ohq” Gyu-min. Support Aaron “Bischu” Kim will remain but is not guaranteed to start given Amador’s addition.
Renegades will be making changes to its top and mid with Seraph and Ninja now starters indefinitely. This will be Ninja’s first game back since a competitive suspension for allegedly tampering with former Samsung Galaxy AD carry Lee “Fury” Jin-yong during the offseason.
The Dragon Knights will play Ember on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to the Challenger Series finals to play the winner of Apex and Team Liquid Academy.
Renegades are in hot water, sitting in 10th place in the League Championship Series (LCS). They’ll need Seraph and Ninja to perform nearly perfectly in their next few games against Cloud9, Team SoloMid, Team Impulse, and Echo Fox if it hopes to challenge Team Dignitas and Echo Fox for a higher seed in the promotion tournament.
