Bethesda’s 25th annual QuakeCon is now called QuakeCon Home.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event is transitioning to an online format. It’ll be live on Twitch from Aug. 7 to 9.
The event will start with Bethesda’s QuakeCon Digital Welcome, featuring special influencer streams, surprises, and the Bethesda community teams from around the globe. The full schedule for the event is still yet to be released.
The BYOC, a popular feature of the convention, will be organized through Twitch so people who are live will also be featured in the team’s video player. The team will celebrate QuakeCon, play and share games, and help raise money for QuakeCon-supported charities.
QuakeCon players will be able to donate to organizations like Direct Relief, UNICEF, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and The Trevor Project directly from the official QuakeCon at Home Twitch stream.
QuakeCon at Home will also have an exclusive “Dogvahkiin” and “Catodemon” T-shirts for sale. One hundred percent of the profits will go to Dallas Pets Alive, the event’s longtime Dallas animal adoption partner, and the FOUR PAWS, a global animal welfare organization.
The 2019-2020 Quake Pro League season will conclude at the Quake World Championship on Aug. 9. The top 24 players from around the globe will compete from home for their share of the $150,000 prize pool.
