New decrypted Titanfall message has fans huffing hopium again

From candy to copper?

Titanfall fans have feverishly worked to decrypt a bizarre message recently added to the game that appears to be a teaser of something on the horizon.

While it doesn’t appear that a full message has been deciphered from the encryption, fans seem to have been able to translate the available text as saying “msg: From Candy To Copper.” In response to the messages, one fan on Reddit was quick to note that those two things might be related to traditional anniversary gifts.

“It’s definitely hyping up the 28th as that’s when we go from ‘candy’ to ‘copper,’” the fan said.

With the anniversary of Titanfall 2’s official release coming up on Saturday, Oct. 28, the game will transition from its sixth anniversary to its seventh. Traditionally, the gift that partners are supposed to give one another on their sixth anniversary is candy or iron, and on the seventh anniversary, romantic partners give one another copper or wool, according to a guide written by Hallmark.

Naturally, the encrypted message made numerous fans hopeful that Respawn might be providing players a bit of intel on an upcoming announcement regarding a new addition to the Titanfall franchise. However, it appears as though that may have been wishful thinking on the part of those fans.

While Respawn could very well make some sort of announcement in the future, it appears as though this encrypted message isn’t anything more than proof that the developers at Respawn haven’t given up on the current Titanfall 2 community.

Reading between the lines a little bit, it doesn’t seem like this message implies a new game announcement, but it certainly indicates that players should look out for some kind of anniversary reward or celebration coming at the end of the month.
