MYinsanity have claimed the second European spot in next month’s Heroes of the Storm Global Championship.
Outlasting seven other top European sides, mYinsanity conclusively defeated Fnatic 3-0 in the final to qualify for their second Heroes Global Championship of 2016.
The winners of the first summer EU regional, Team Dignitas, looked unstoppable at that event—but the roster crashed out during the group stage. Team captain James “Bakery” Baker blamed the losses on being ill and unable to properly shot call for his team. Dignitas also replaced flex player Jonathan “Wubby” Gunnarsson with Alexander “AlexTheProG” Grumstrup, formerly of Na`Vi, a week before the event.
Dignitas found themselves on the receiving end of a loss to teh89, the side formerly known as Na`Vi before the Commonwealth of Independent States team dropped the Heroes roster. Teh89 went on to lose 3-0 to Fnatic in the semifinals, while mYinsanity overcame Team Liquid by the same score line.
Team Dignitas and mYinsanity will now travel to Sweden for the summer Heroes Global Championship at DreamHack Summer, competing for a piece of $500,000.
The two teams will be hoping for a better result than the Spring Championship in Seoul, where both sides failed to reach the top four.
Team Naventic, eStar Gaming, and Negative Synergy have all also re-qualified for the Summer Championship, with X-Team taking the second spot to represent China.Â
