Jacksonville shooting survivor Ryen Aleman dies in a fatal car accident

He was 25 years old.

Madden player Ryen “Badrep” Aleman passed away in a fatal one-car accident earlier today.

The 25-year-old from Robstown, Texas was one of the competitors who survived the tragic shooting at the Madden Championship Series southeast qualifier in Jacksonville, Florida on Aug. 26.

Aleman lost control of his vehicle around 3:45am CT on Sunday, according to KIII-TV 3News. The car reportedly “overturned several times [before] crashing into the nearby railroad trucks.”

Aleman also reportedly wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his  car. The Texas Department of Public Safety is unsure about the cause of the fatal accident, however.

Madden players Eli “Trueboy” Clayton and Taylor “spotmeplzzz” Robertson were killed when fellow competitor David “Bread” Katz opened fire at the Jacksonville tournament last month. Many others were injured in this tragic shooting, but Aleman was one of the survivors.

The Jacksonville shooting victims were described as “kind,” “genuine,” and top competitors, and the gaming community will continue to mourn all those impacted by this tragic incident.
