With The International standing head and shoulders above all other Dota 2 tournaments, it’s become an annual tradition for teams to disband in its wake.

And we already know who this year’s first victim is: North American powerhouse Cloud9. Rasmus ‘MiSeRy’ Fillipsen broke the news on his stream yesterday, and it was subsequently confirmed by C9 owner Jack Etienne:

Two of the players, Pittner “bOne7” Armand and Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao, had survived last year’s TI cull after finishing 5th/6th with the team having joined the team last February. According to Fillipsen, the group will not be staying together, though there are no indications yet of their next destinations.

Cloud9’s lineup looked strong throughout 2015, but it failed to secure a tournament win.

All five players will still be looking to play at the top level. And so will the team. So expect this move to just be the beginning of Dota’s famous post-International roster merry-go-round.
