Nobody really likes Cube Monsters on Fortnite: Battle Royale. They’re there for the Fortnitemares event and all can do is to shoot or avoid them. Now, there’s also a way to sneak past them.

Reddit user BravoRonny shared on Reddit that players can crouch walk to avoid Cube Monsters. That way, these new and aggressive Fortnitemares AI enemies won’t see or attack the player. The video shows BravoRonny crouching and moving close to these monsters and being ignored by them. The monsters would have become aggressive at a much farther distance in a normal situation.

The Cube Monsters just look towards the horizon and never look down. BravoRonny just moves past them without engaging in combat.

We tested this in a Solo match and it also worked. Players still have to be careful because the Cube Monsters and Spawns will detect them if they are at melee range. And as it would normally happen, all nearby monsters will become aggressive after the first one detects you.

The main reason for sneaking past these monsters is to avoid shooting and making noises that would attract other players to that area. Specially in the end game, entering a conflict with these AI opponents for no reason is not a good idea. The storm circle will be small and you will be detected and taken down easily by another player. Since many players already like to sneak behind enemies in the final circles of a Fortnite match, moving while crouching should not be a huge problem.

Players will have to keep that in mind for a few weeks. Epic Games added these monsters to Fortnite: Battle Royale with the seasonal event Fortnitemares last week, and they will be in normal game matches until Nov. 26.

If you don’t want to deal with Cube Monsters at all, you can jump in the regular Squads playlist for a normal Fortnite: Battle Royale experience.
