Fortnite downtime for Fall Guys (v30.40) update, explained
The Fortnite servers are currently down because Epic Games is rolling out the v30.40 update, which introduces Fall Guys fully to the title. Other game modes also have some big additions.
Though Epic added Fall Guys assets to Fortnite in a previous update, it was merely the tip of the iceberg as a teaser shared on the official Fortnite X page (formerly Twitter) hinted that there will be new additions to the battle royale mode.

When will the Fortnite servers be back up?

Downtime for mid-season patches usually lasts at least four hours, though it can sometimes be longer. At the very earliest, the Fortnite servers will be back up at 4am PT/6am CT/7am ET/12pm BST/9pm AEST.
