It’s a busy period in Fortnite as we tick ever closer to the start of chapter five, season four, on Aug. 16. While things may be winding down on the Battle Royale side, it’s all ramping up in LEGO Fortnite.

Here are the biggest changes and new additions in the v30.40 update.

Fast travel using Bus Stations

By far the biggest addition to LEGO Fortnite since it launched in December 2023, fast travel will finally be available in-game—and you won’t even need to build anything to get started.

Bus Stations will be located across the map, providing the ability to fast travel to different areas and, at launch, these will be spread across existing worlds. If you want to build your own Bus Station near your village or a favorite mining spot, you have that ability, too.

Rifts are a new item required for crafting Bus Stations, and you can get them by destroying any existing Bus Stations on the map. It’s not clear yet whether Rifts can be obtained in any other way.

Change settings of existing worlds

LEGO Fortnite has received several changes to game difficulty settings since it first launched, and now, for the first time, you can change the settings for existing worlds, meaning you can switch to Cozy whenever you want or ramp up the challenge.

The exception, of course, is Expert mode. Worlds set in Expert difficulty cannot have their settings changed, though it remains to be seen whether you can increase the difficulty to Expert on an existing world.

New Toys and LEGO Styles

LEGO Fortnite has several new toys added in the update: Pressure Plate, Trigger Plate, Activated Balloon Small, and Activated Balloon Large. Using these items enables you to create your own vehicles and moving objects.

In addition, several Fortnite skins receive their own LEGO Styles in the update, including Indiana Jones. The other LEGO Styles added in v30.40 are Abyss, Antheia, The Cube Queen, and Ember.

Two new vehicles

The crop of vehicles in LEGO Fortnite expands in the latest update, with the Kart Racer and the Offroad Flyerto being added to the game. Both are available to create in guided builds, just like the existing vehicles already in the mode.

While we’ve not seen an official look at the new builds, they will provide more options for long journeys if you’d prefer not to utilize the fast travel system.
