Fortnite: Battle Royale fans will have to wait a little longer to play a nostalgia-filled game mode again.
The newly added Classic mode has already been removed from the game and replaced with an Unvaulted mode, just hours after it was made available. The modes seem very similar, but the main differences are that Classic mode had items from the first two seasons of the game and that Unvaulted has currently vaulted items from all seasons of the game. The core gameplay does seem to be the same though.

“Battle Royale gameplay with a limited set of weapons and items, including a few that have been returned from the vault!” the in-game description reads.
Considering the brief amount of time that the Classic mode was in the game, it’s possible that Epic put it in by mistake or didn’t like how it played. Epic still has not made a statement on the sudden mode switch. The developer did not respond to comment at the time of publishing.
Update Dec. 19 10:13am CT: Epic Games told Dot Esports that Unvaulted is the same mode as Classic, but with a different name.
