It’s time to set sail. The Fortnite and Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration finally arrived in patch v30.20. There are new places to explore and cosmetics to grab, so here’s everything included in the Pirates of the Caribbean update for Fortnite.
Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean update patch notes
Cursed Sails Event Pass
As a part of the update, Fortnite gets a new Event Pass filled with Pirates of the Caribbean cosmetics, including the one and only Captain Jack Sparrow (comes with a LEGO style). Even if you decide not to buy the premium track for 1,000 V-Bucks, you can still earn free rewards like Jack’s Cutlass, Bane Pickaxe, and Jack’s Prize Back Bling.
Complete Cursed Sails quests to earn Cursed Gold and progress the pass. The Cursed Sails quests are split into eight parts, with new quests unlocking every two days. You have until Aug. 6 to complete them and earn the Jack’s Ship Glider, which is your personal Black Pearl to keep.
Here are the dates for the quest releases:
- Part one: July 19 at 8am CT
- Part two: July 21 at 8am CT
- Part three: July 23 at 8am CT
- Part four: July 25 at 8am CT
- Part five: July 27 at 8am CT
- Part six: July 29 at 8am CT
- Part seven: July 31 at 8am CT
- Part eight: Aug. 2 at 8am CT
New POI
The captain is nothing without his ship, which is why the Cursed Sails update adds a POI with the infamous Black Pearl. A whole new location in the middle of the map called Shipwreck Shallows is also connected to some of the event quests.
New and unvaulted items
The new update comes with a new limited-time item, Ship in a Bottle. The Ship in a Bottle drops from chests inside the Shipwreck Shallows’ pirate ship. Use it to summon a cursed ship that can dive into opponents.
Aside from the Ship in a Bottle, we see the return of the Pirate Cannons, Flint-Knock Pistol, and the Buried Treasure maps. You can find the Pirate Cannons around the new POI, while the rest of the items drop from chests and are found on the ground across the island.
