Fortnite welcomes new Marvel characters, weapons in Absolute Doom season trailer

Fortnite’s Marvel era is just around the horizon, and the developer has finally dropped the trailer for the next season, Absolute Doom, and it shows the battle royale has a ton in store for fans to cherish their favorite Marvel memories. 

After the D23 livestream ended on Aug. 11, the Fortnite developers revealed several superheroes like War Machine, Shuri, Mysterio, Emma Frost, and many more taking center stage to fight against Doctor Doom, who seems to be the antagonist for the next season. However, the trailer wasn’t all about gunpowder and action as there is a central narrative building Fortnite’s lore.

After Doctor Doom sabotages Megalo Don’s mission to fuel the ship in the live event, the trailer’s opening shot shows Doctor Doom absorbing the powers of Pandora’s box and freeing Mysterio from a Stronghold to join hands with another Marvel villain. Captain Jonesy is also seen to be recruiting superheroes like Peelverine, X-Men, and Fantastic Four members in the trailer to prepare for Doctor Doom’s nefarious plans.

Of course, the season is also about guns and mythic powers. The trailer teased a few old mythic powers like Iron Man’s repulsors, Captain America’s Shield, and Doctor Doom’s mythic powers while adding exciting new ones like Shuri’s Black Panther mythic, War Machine’s Arsenal that should spice up the gameplay experience. Moreover, Iron Man’s Rifle, Dual Micro SMGs, and many more weapons are coming to the game to shake up the meta. 

While it isn’t a Galactus-level threat like the last time the Avengers set foot on the island in chapter two, season four, it is certainly the time of the year when Marvel characters and players band together to put evil forces to sleep in Fortnite and save the island’s fate.
