Fortnite Shadow Bomb glitch lets you become permanently invisible

That didn't take long at all.

Within just a few hours of releasing in patch 8.51, the Fortnite Shadow Bomb already has a glitch that can make the player permanently invisible. The Shadow Bomb item is meant to only make the player invisible for a short period of time, but this glitch allows the effect to last an entire match.

The Shadow Bomb glitch was discovered by a Twitter user who posted a video of it in action. It’s really simple to accomplish and all it takes is being invisible then getting downed or killed. If you then respawn or a teammate revives you, you’ll come back still invisible for the remainder of the match.

This also includes the perk of being able to double jump, too. There does seem to be another weird glitch where your body will be invisible, but your weapon may still show up in the game for everyone to see. So, while that might not be totally breaking the game, it does give a pretty unfair advantage to players who exploit this glitch.

This will allow players to stay invisible for the entire match, which will make both seeing and killing them a huge problem. You do still take fall damage in this state, but that’s certainly avoidable.

With the weekly World Cup qualifiers happening again this weekend, Epic will likely issue a quick patch to fix this or remove it entirely until it’s fixed. At this time, Epic hasn’t acknowledged the glitch.
