Fortnite players will now have a way easier time becoming one with Doom after community cries were heard loud and clear by Epic Games this week.
The Isle of Doom and its paltry spawn rate will now appear way more often in Fortnite. Players have a 20 percent chance today, with an increase in spawn rate for each of the next couple of days to help players interact with the cauldron and become Doctor Doom himself.
“Your cries for more Doom have been answered… with more DOOM!” Fortnite said on Twitter/X. “The Isle of Doom will now appear more frequently, increasing each day until v31.20 next week! Rejoice and revel in the opportunity to become one of Doom’s Chosen.”
Since a recent update, the island that spawns towards the end of Fortnite matches has had a very small chance to be an island that contains a cauldron where players can claim the power of Doctor Doom, transforming into the supervillain akin to how Thanos was playable several years ago. Doctor Doom features his own powers, including the ability to fly, do a massive dropkick foot dive, launch green energy blasts, and has a massive health pool. Becoming Doom’s Chosen is looked at as an instant-win condition in BR.
A quest to “become Doom’s Chosen” has stopped players in their tracks thanks to the low spawn rate, but this change should help immensely. For example, I play Fortnite pretty frequently and have only seen the Isle of Doom spawn once. The entire lobby converged on the location and my teammate and I were taken out.
Fortnite’s v31.20 update will bring new challenges and data mined content next week, so make sure to play as many matches as you can until then to try and become Doom’s Chosen yourself.
