Starting May 6, Fortnite players will no longer be able to bring together two accounts from separate platforms. Any pending, eligible account merge requests submitted prior to May 6 will be completed, so interested players will need to act fast.
Merging your accounts allows you to retain your precious V-Bucks and cosmetics on one account. The feature was implemented when cross-play functionality was introduced to Fortnite. With so many players having different accounts across platforms, Epic released the feature to bring together everything a player owns.
Not all accounts are eligible for merging, however. This feature only applies to players who own a PS4 account and a Switch or Xbox One account. PC and mobile players are ineligible since they had access to cross-play with all console versions prior to PS4 allowing it with all systems.
That means you must have used your PS4 account and Switch or Xbox One account before Sept. 28, 2018. Neither accounts can be disabled or banned for any reason. You will also need access to any email addresses associated with the two accounts.
If your account merge request is accepted, your in-game items and V-Bucks will be held for two weeks from your primary account. If you want to make a Fortnite account merge request, you can do so here. You have until May 6 to submit your request for it to be completed.
