Piranha Plant will be released “around” February for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Finally, a somewhat-confirmed release date is available.

We now have an approximate time frame for when players will finally get their hands on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s first DLC character.

That character, of course, is Piranha Plant, which is now expected to release “around” February, according to the Nintendo Switch news feed. This should come as no surprise, though, since we’re slowly getting to the end of January and we hadn’t heard any news about the character since it was first revealed last month.

The news feed on the Switch also reminds players to register their game before the end of the month, or else they’ll miss the chance to get Piranha Plant for free. But if you fail to register the game before the end of January, Piranha Plant will still be available as a stand-alone purchase in the future.

Piranha Plant also isn’t part of the DLC Fighters Pass. So if you bought that to get your hands on characters like Joker from Persona 5, don’t expect to get Piranha Plant in that fashion as well.
