EA FC 25 players are already tired of ‘infuriating’ new Rush mode

Getting a bunch of strangers to play together online can only lead to positive emotions and brotherly love. That’s probably what went through EA’s head when it was creating the Rush mode for EA FC 25, but players are singing a different tune.

EA FC 25 players are trying to love Rush, but EA FC 25 players won’t let them. That’s the best way to sum up the current dynamics in the brand-new mode. While the quick and intense format is very much to fans’ liking, it’s their teammates they have issues with.

The main frustration stems from the apparent rampant selfishness, with many players refusing to play defense and instead being dead set on dribbling past the entire opposing team or even camping in the enemy area even when that means being 10 feet offside. The one thing most players in Rush never ever do, according to other Rush players, is pass the ball.

This makes the mode beyond infuriating for a sizable portion of the player base, who’ve vented their frustrations in multiple popular Reddit threads. They’ve even come up with a quick fix for the epidemic of selfishness in Rush. The key, as often is in EA FC 25, is to give players items for doing a certain thing, in this case passing the ball and assisting your teammates. There’s only one flaw with this suggestion: As another user swiftly exclaimed, rewarding assists would only mean players will now try to force the assist and refuse to shoot, resulting in a different type of chaos.

It’s one of the rare occasions where the majority of EA FC 25 players agree that the fault doesn’t lay at the developers’ feet but stems entirely from within the community. It is quite the statement when a mode like Rush comes out to give players a chance to play fast and loose on a smaller pitch with friends and randoms online, and barely a day into early access, where the most devoted players should be, the vocal majority pretty much says this is unplayable.

Rush mode can be found all over EA FC 25, from Ultimate Team to Career Mode, with the latter being a lot less toxic. We’ve already examined all about Rush and what it brings to EA FC 25, so give that a read and don’t let those who shall not pass discourage you from giving this exciting new format a try.
