Every great team needs a great goalkeeper. It’s not every day you get to own one of these without breaking the bank, but we dug deep and found the best cheap goalkeepers in EA FC 25 Career Mode.

There are two interpretations of best—one is the best right now, and the other is the best long-term investment. These demand a completely different approach to doing business on the transfer market, but whether you’re looking for a quick fix or someone to fit within your five-year plan, we will provide you with the best value goalkeepers in EA FC 25.

Best cheap goalkeepers in EA FC 25 Career Mode

  • Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munchen) – 86 OVR, 38 years old, $2.7 million
  • Kasper Schmeichel (Celtic) – 80 OVR, 37 years old, $875,000
  • Lukas Hradecky (Bayer Leverkusen) – 84 OVR, 34 years old, $8 million

Goalkeepers age finer than any other player on the pitch, and you can use that to get a great goalie for what amounts to pennies. Manuel Neuer’s longevity keeps his status as one of the best goalkeepers in EA FC 25, but due to his advancing age, Neuer’s nominal price tag is just $2.7 million. The downside is that Neuer won’t play much longer, and you’ll have to find a different solution a season or two, but he’s a fantastic first-season fix.

Kasper Schmeichel is an even cheaper option for Career Modes on particularly tight budgets. Obviously, he’s not as good as Neuer, but for less than a million quid, you can’t ask much more of the Dane.

We’d hate to poach Bayer Leverkusen’s record-breaking squad, but Lukas Hradecky just so happens to be the least expensive top-tier goalkeeper who can produce at a high level for a few more years. He’ll cost three times more than Neuer, but there won’t be the need to look for a replacement for a while, evening out the books in the end.

Best cheap young goalkeepers in EA FC 25 Career Mode

  • James Trafford (Burnley) – 73 OVR, 84 potential, $6.5 million
  • Jonas Urbig (Koln) – 73 OVR, 84 potential, $6 million

You can go in the completely opposite direction and play the long game. Buying one of the best young goalkeepers in EA FC 25 Career Mode before they’ve fully blossomed will lessen the burden on your budget and secure the position for the next 10 to 15 seasons. This approach has its negatives, namely you’ll have to wait a year or two for the youngster to turn into a proper star.

Our top recommendations for young goalkeepers in EA FC 25 Career Mode are Jonas Urbig and James Trafford. They have the potential to be as good as Hradecky while being decent enough from the start to be a viable second option if not necessarily a starter. Their price of $6 to 6.5 million is unbeatable. Goalkeepers who would be marginally better at their peak will set you back several more millions, so if you want the best value, these two are where it’s at.

You can enjoy the new EA FC 25 game mode Rush in Career too. Fans of the series weren’t pleased with a particular aspect of playing Rush online, but its offline implementation in Career Mode makes it a much less stressful experience.
