The road to Dota 2‘s The International 2024 is over. Six teams already secured their spots via direct invite thanks to their form over the calendar year, but there were 10 spots remaining for aspiring squads through the regional closed qualifiers.
Following the invites, the other slots were distributed between each major region: Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China, North America, South America, and Southeast Asia. No team wanted to miss out on a ticket to TI, the greatest tournament in Dota‘s illustrious circuit. Here’s everything you need to know about the Dota 2 TI 2024 closed qualifiers.

North America (June 9 to 13)
Despite the fans willing Arteezy on, the veteran Canadian carry couldn’t get the job done as nouns found revenge with a 3-0 final sweep. Nouns haven’t managed to make huge waves in the top-tier events they’ve attended this year, but have proven themselves the best in the region with back-to-back qualifier wins over Shopify for Riyadh Masters and TI 2024.
China (June 9 to 13)
Like Shopify, Azure Ray couldn’t convert against the young guns, dropping both opportunities to qualify for TI with losses to Team Zero and G2 x iG. G2’s Chinese Dota squad has featured often this year at LAN while Team Zero, Xtreme Gaming’s second team, are yet to attend a major tournament outside of China.
South America (June 14 to 18)
There was much discussion over the decision to hand two TI spots to South America, but after a solid qualifier packed with great Dota, HEROIC and beastcoast will represent the region in Copenhagen.
Eastern Europe (June 14 to 18)
Nothing was stopping 1win from claiming Eastern Europe’s sole qualifier spot at TI. Night Pulse and NAVI were the only teams to trouble the squad, who swept their way to TI against 9Pandas and Yellow Submarine.
Western Europe (June 19 to 23)
Out with the old and in with the new. In what might have been the last time we would see Puppey and Kuroky at a TI, both Secret and Nigma Galaxy failed to even qualify for the major tournament. Instead it was Entity and Tundra who emerged from the qualifier, edging out PSG Quest and NAVI Junior.
Southeast Asia (June 19 to 23)
Like in the Western Europe qualifier, both upper bracket squads ultimately survived here in Southeast Asia. Talon took down Aurora in the upper bracket final to secure their spot, while Aurora were made to work for their spot against TNC Predator.
